Gina has been teaching yoga since 2002. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment for a diverse range of students in her yoga classes with a focus on helping students find balance, ease, and integration in their practice. Her yoga education includes trainings in vinyasa yoga, yin and restorative yoga, and therapeutic benefits of yoga. Gina started practicing yoga while working in non-profit management in Washington DC, and loved the connection, balance and peace that yoga offered. She originally embarked on the path of teacher training after teaching a yoga series for at-risk youth at a charter school, and has loved teaching ever since.
Gina is also an AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique Teacher, having completed 1600 hours of training over 3 years. She has a private Alexander Technique practice in the Charlottesville Wellness Center, where she works with students on posture re-education, reducing harmful tension patterns, and creating more awareness and ease in everyday movements and exercise practices. Gina infuses her yoga teaching with Alexander Technique principles.
