Because we are so passionate about yoga and people at NOWyoga, we do what we can to support the community and to provide avenues for more people to practice yoga.
Yoga is for every soul.

“Love must radiate from you to others…Yoga is for cultivating the head and heart.” ~ B.K.S. Lyengar
Since we opened our doors on June 3 of this year, our wonderful NOWfamily members have helped us to raise over $3,500 for Charlottesville area non-profits that do valuable work to support our community. Donations are raised on Sunday mornings at our 10:15 Slow Flow class and at special events with yoga and live music hosted by the studio monthly.
Everyone’s first class at NOWyoga is free, or by donation.
Sunday morning class is free.
We are establishing a yoga supplies lending closet for yoga teachers engaging in outreach in the community.
We are providing scholarships to local non-profits to enable people they serve to attend yoga classes at NOWyoga.
We rent studio space at reduced rates to yoga teachers and practitioners of related somatic/healing practices who are doing work that supports the community.
Several of our teachers are engaged in activities that promote the practice of yoga to the community at large and to specific populations: Mike and Sarah Keenan, have been hosting free yoga classes in the courtyard of their business, the Juice Laundry, during the summer; Kelli Block has been working with survivors of sexual assault; all of our teachers have taught classes as fundraisers or as outreach and are, as individuals, engaged in the community.
